AISIS — AI-Powered Student Information System
Multi-tenant SIS MVP for Westlake Unified: RBAC-scoped student ops, attendance, SpEd/504, Claude AI analysis, and role-scoped analytics — Next.js 15, NestJS, MongoDB.
Problem
School districts need to run day-to-day student operations with less guesswork and stronger compliance confidence.
Sensitive student data must stay scoped by role and tenant so district admins, teachers, counsellors, and SpEd coordinators each see only the students and workflows they are authorized to access.
Solution
AISIS is a multi-tenant SIS district validation MVP for Westlake Unified School District with production-ready modules for authentication and RBAC, student profiles, attendance tracking, and SpEd/504 plan management. Staff can manage demographics and grades, record attendance, track IEP/504 deadlines, and use natural-language search, risk analysis, narrative reporting, and IEP compliance review powered by Anthropic Claude — with PII minimization and source-field citations.
The product includes a role-scoped analytics dashboard with date-range filters and drag-and-drop widgets, plus demo planning surfaces for scheduling, staffing, budget scenarios, and substitute coverage. The stack is a Docker-first monorepo (Next.js 15, NestJS, MongoDB) with shared RBAC contracts and AWS ECR deployment via GitHub Actions.
Outcomes
Mandatory MVP requirements verified in the project's traceability matrix.
Pilot-ready seed data and demo planning modules for district walkthroughs.
