AI can build a tool. It cannot own the blast radius.
Why prompt-built software still needs engineers who think about failure modes, scale, and accountability.
The industry is excited about tools that appear in minutes. That excitement is fair. Speed is useful.
What most people miss is the blast radius.
When software touches payments, medical documents, underwriting decisions, or customer data, "it worked in the chat" is not a release criterion. You need boundaries, tests, observability, and a team that can explain what happens when something fails.
Our stance
At CanCode Devs we use AI aggressively in the build process. We do not confuse that with shipping systems that are ready for production load.
Build fast. Then engineer for the day traffic, edge cases, and real users arrive.
